In this article we will review the employee training, various employee development methods and their benefits, the relationship between employee development and organizational development, and the role of human resource management in career development. To start with, it should be noted that employee training plays an important role in an organization’s development. Employee Training encompasses all measures of education, the promotion and development of the organization that are goal-oriented planned by an organization or person, implemented, and evaluated. Employee Training is a field of personnel management within the business, organizational sociology, adult education (andragogy) within the education and personnel psychology and business psychology with the goal of people, teams and organizations to enable them to successfully perform their duties in operational work systems and to cope efficiently and to face new challenges with confidence and motivated. It includes specific support for human capital in order to achieve the company’s objectives, taking into account the needs and qualifications of the employee or group of employees optimally.

Methods of training firms are developed in accordance with the overall strategy of the company and include programs and methods of employee to work in their units. These are the most common methods of employee training:

– The organization of continuous training of specialized programs – a method common among large multinational companies;

– Training in the workplace during work includes work to train workers with an experienced employee of the company to develop the specifics of the production process at the plant;


– Training in the training centers – in this case, companies send their employees to specialized schools for training in various programs, or for the development of specific technologies that are used only within the organization.

Staff development – is an implementation of measures to promote full disclosure of the personal capacity of workers and increase their ability to contribute to the organization. Such activities may be individual or group, conducted in the workplace or specialized, focused on the development of general and specific skills. Development opportunities should be provided to everyone, because they not only improve efficiency, but also the flexibility of management, improves morale, facilitate empowerment, and the neglect of the need for development of new knowledge and skills increases turnover. The implementation of the modern concept of development involves increasing flexibility training, forms of group work, the replacement of teachers’ consultants.

Staff development can be shared and professional. Professional development – is the process of training to meet the new production functions, employment positions, and new challenges, aimed at bridging the differences between the requirements for the employee and the qualities of a real person. It requires considerable effort on the part of the candidate, so it is impossible without the interest on his part. There may be a desire to quickly learn a new job, to keep the old or get a higher position, to provide a guarantee of stability or growth of income; acquire knowledge, expand contacts and become more independent of employers and competitive in the labor market.

Training of new employees – is an initial vocational training adopted by the company. Pupils enjoy all the rights of workers, and they are fully subject to the labor law, collective agreements and other regulations. The main forms of training of the new employees are individual, group and course preparation.


Retraining is organized to acquire a new profession of redundant workers, which cannot be used, but their existing professions and persons expressing a desire to change their profession with the needs of production. Advanced training – is training after receiving basic education of workers, aimed at consistently maintaining and improving their professional and economic knowledge (deepening, improvement, alignment with the requirements of a higher position) skills. Current training programs are aimed to teach employees to think for themselves (including cost), to solve complex problems, to carry out an entrepreneurial approach to business, work as a team. They provide knowledge beyond the office and encourage a desire to learn more. But the prospect of training activates only those employees who have not reached their ceiling.

It is important to say that organizational development is closely connected to employee development and highly depends on it. The field of Organizational Development is about the operation, development and effectiveness of human organizations. The Organizational Development is also seen as a tool that, through internal analysis of the organization and the surrounding environment, allows information to guide you to adopt a path or strategy to change, to evolution, according to the requirements or demands of the environment in which they are placed, achieving efficiency of all its constituent elements for organizational success.

It is important to say that Human Resource Management plays an important role in career development. Human Resource Management – is the area of knowledge and practice that promotes the organization of quality staff that can carry out its work functions and its optimal use. Human resource management is an integral part of the quality management systems of the organization. The activities of personnel management are focused on the impact on the human component of the organization, focused on the alignment of staff capabilities and goals, strategies, conditions for the development of the organization. Personnel management is divided into the following areas: search and adaptation of personnel, operations of the personnel (including personnel training and development, rapid evaluation of personnel, work organization, management of business communication, motivation and remuneration), strategic work with the staff.

Considering my personal career development at the sunflower county sheriff department, I can say that I can see myself working there in 5 years, and I would expect to get a promotion and more experience in the sphere.
